Pranit Koppolu

Pranit Koppolu is a junior at Forest Hills Northern High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is very passionate and driven in the field of Environmental Sciences, Entrepreneurship and Business. Pranit earned the Presidential Service Gold Medal award at the iStart Valley internship program and is currently serving on the Youth Executive Committee. Pranit is an avid runner and is one of the top runners on the Varsity Track & Field and Cross-Country teams winning many Competitions and Championships. Some of Pranit’s other interests include sustainability and planet restoration. During the summer of 2022, he joined a Science and Leadership Research Program focused on river restoration and sustainability of ecosystems. Pranit explored many layers of the Grand Rapids River and surrounding land, conducted hands-on science investigations on federally endangered aquatic species, wildlife and explored socioeconomics. Pranit also toured companies that focus on sustainability, met with Fisheries Biologists, civic leaders, business owners and community leaders to discuss a range of issues. End of the program, Pranit presented his research and recommendations to the mayor of the Grand Rapids and other business leaders and discussed how proper city planning and government can be powerful tools for common good. As he joins the Youth Executive Committee, he hopes to combine his interests in Environmental Sciences and Entrepreneurship to enforce a positive yet powerful impact on society.
