Atharva Kulkarni

Atharva is a senior at Montgomery High School (MHS) in Skillman, New Jersey. Atharva is passionate about helping his community through technology, social entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. He is an advocate of UN Sustainable development goals (UN SDG) and has collaborated with the initiative on several projects. Atharva received the 2020 Gold Presidential Service Award for community service while interning at iStart Valley during his sophomore year. He has placed in several business concept competitions including the prestigious Norm Brodsky Business Concept Competition and the Montgomery Cougar Pitch Business Competition. He also serves as the treasurer for his high school’s FBLA board. Additionally, Atharva is actively involved with the New Jersey Youth and Government Program. He is currently one of the State’s presiding officers and has previously served as chairman of the Economics Committee at the State Youth and Government Conference. This past summer, Atharva represented the state of NJ at the prestigious Conference on National Affairs, where he presented legislation designed to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the National Electrical Grid. Atharva is also actively involved with the New Jersey Alzheimer’s Association, where he is currently working with state legislators to advocate policies designed to improve the quality of life for patients suffering from dementia. He is also developing an app called Lost and Found, which is designed to protect dementia patients while they drive. Atharva has also won several awards in Neuroscience and is passionate about cognitive sciences and neuroeconomics. In his free time, Atharva loves pursuing his passions in music. He has been learning Indian Classical Music for over a decade and is also a concert percussionist. In his free time, he enjoys reading, trail biking, and playing table tennis.
