Sri Bhamidipati

Sri Bhamidipati

Sri Bhamidipati is a junior in the MST (Math, Science, Technology) magnet at duPont Manual High School in Louisville, Kentucky. She is hardworking, dedicated, and a passionate individual. Her academic interests lie in social entrepreneurship and social justice, as well as STEM principles. Sri and her team of associates at UCrew, a high school social entrepreneurship program at the Muhammad Ali Center, are in the process of creating a social business that combats poverty in the Louisville community. Sri is also an Activist in the acclaimed Educational Justice Honor Society; she meets once a week with a middle school student at a low socioeconomic level for tutoring sessions, aiming to close the educational inequity gap in Louisville. She has won multiple speaker awards at Debate competitions, 2nd at State Science Fair, an award from Yale for the Best Science Fair project in Computer Science, Physics, or Biology, as well as 4th at FBLA State Competition, which qualified her to compete at the National FBLA conference this past summer. At school, she is in the National Honor Society and Girl Up clubs, as well as Environmental Club, in which she is the chair of the Lincoln Garden Committee, whose purpose was to establish a garden at the local Lincoln Elementary. In her free time, she volunteers at Norton Hospital, and the KY Science Center, in which she is on the Youth Infusion Board, whose aim is to spread science literacy in the Louisville community as well as assist in organizing the annual Science Center events. Some of her hobbies include playing the piano and guitar, playing badminton, photography, and music, more specifically singing Indian Classical Carnatic Vocal Music, which she has been doing for about 12 years. She has performed at concerts in the U.S. and in India. Sri is on her school’s first ever Acapella Crimson Chords club as well and she loves listening to music from all cultures.
